The New York City Police Museum provides innovative and interactive programming for children, families and adults of all ages. Programs for school groups are age appropriate, include hands-on activities, and meet school curriculum standards.

Midwinter Recess
February 15-19, 2010
1-3:00 pm each day
$10 per day, members free
For ages 6-12

Learn the skills it takes to be a police officer at this fun drop-off program. Each day will be a different theme, with hands-on activity about police. On Monday we will do CSI chemistry experiments including fingerprinting and invisible ink. On Tuesday we will learn about the way police move around the city and build police vehicles. On Wednesday we will learn about the way police communicate with one another and make phones. On Thursday we will practice observation and critical thinking skills by becoming a sketch artist, and on Friday we will use all of our skills to solve a mystery. For ages 6-12

Join us for fun activities each day at this drop-off program. Every day is different. Learn about policing and museum collections through exploring the different exhibits at the museum each day, including ‘Links to the Past’, the history of policing, ‘Transportation and communication’, ‘Policing a Changed City’, and our temporary exhibition about Lt. Petrosino, founder of the bomb squad and then build your own shoebox museum exhibit. Join us for one day, or the entire program. To register call 212-480-3100 x116.
